7 Azure Giant, also known as Blue Giant, is a midseason Russian anthocyanin tomato producing attractive flattened beefsteak fruits. Plants are medium-sized and commonly reach approximately 3.3–4.3 feet in open-ground gardens, although protected culture may produce taller vines. Fruits typically weigh approximately 5.3–8.8 oz, with some preserved lines capable of producing much larger specimens. The rounded, slightly flattened tomatoes develop pink-red to raspberry-red skin with dramatic blue-purple to nearly black anthocyanin shoulders where exposed to direct sunlight. The dense red flesh is meaty, juicy, and sweet, balanced by a light acidity and pleasant fruity aroma. Plants benefit from staking, caging, or trellising, especially when carrying heavy fruit clusters. Excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, tomato platters, juice, sauces, and specialty garden displays.
