Cherokee Purple Tomato Seeds - Premium Heirloom Tomato, High-Yielding, Complex Flavor Profile, Juicy Flesh

Overview

The Cherokee Purple Tomato is a legendary heirloom variety cherished by gardeners and chefs for its extraordinary flavor and striking appearance. Unlike common red tomatoes, this variety produces large fruits with deep purple-black shoulders that fade to a dusky pinkish-red at the bottom. The inner flesh reveals a beautiful dark pink color with a dense, meaty texture that practically melts on the tongue. Each fruit offers a complex flavor profile—intensely sweet yet balanced, with a subtle, mysterious smokiness that sets it apart from all other tomatoes. Whether you're a home gardener or a specialty grower, Cherokee Purple Tomato delivers a gourmet harvesting experience.

Key Features

• Distinctive Coloration: Deep purple skin with dark pink inner flesh creates a stunning visual contrast; colors deepen as fruits mature

• Exceptional Flavor Profile: Exceptionally sweet and juicy with a unique, faint smoky undertone—often described as the best-tasting tomato variety

• High Productivity: Each plant yields approximately 20 fruits, perfect for fresh eating, slicing, and culinary creations

• Sandy, Meaty Texture: Fully ripe fruits develop a classic 'sandy' or meaty interior, ideal for sandwiches and fresh preparations

• Color-Changing Ripeness Indicator: Harvest when the top of the fruit turns red; fruits continue sweetening and deepening in color as they fully mature

Cultivation Guidelines

• Planting: Provide full sun (6-8 hours daily) in well-draining, nutrient-rich soil; space plants 24-36 inches apart for adequate air circulation

• Watering: Maintain consistent moisture, especially during fruit development; avoid overhead watering to reduce disease risk

• Support: Use sturdy cages or trellises, as plants produce heavy fruit loads that can weigh down branches

• Harvesting: Pick when the top (shoulder) of the fruit shows red coloration; fruits will continue ripening indoors if needed

• Climate: Performs best in warm seasons with good airflow; use mulch to regulate soil moisture and temperature
