130 Kumquat Pink Opal is a rare Russian selection developed from a segregation of Indigo Kumquat by Mira Almakaeva and Olga Degtyareva. This midseason indeterminate tomato produces abundant trusses of elegant elongated plum, teardrop, and miniature Marzano-shaped fruits weighing approximately 0.35–1.1 oz. Each fruit typically ends in a delicate pointed tip, while the skin ripens from green to glossy deep pink, cherry-red, and raspberry-red. Strong sunlight develops a dramatic purple to nearly black anthocyanin cap across the shoulders and upper fruit. The firm, juicy flesh has a crisp bite, very few seeds, and a sweet, lightly fruity flavor with refreshing acidity. Fruits remain attractive on the vine and store well without becoming mushy, making this variety especially useful for gardeners who value both appearance and shelf life. Extremely vigorous plants commonly reach approximately 3.3–5.2 feet tall and produce many fine side shoots and long fruit trusses. Provide a tall stake, cage, or trellis and remove excess suckers regularly to maintain airflow and keep the abundant crop manageable. Excellent for fresh snacking, salads, appetizers, garnishes, skewers, pickling, and short-term storage.
