782 Bi-Color Stretch Oxheart Tomato Seeds – Giant Heart-Shaped Fruits with Rich, Sweet Flavor, Ideal for Gourmet Gardening

Overview

For gardeners who seek the extraordinary, the 782 Bi-Color Stretch Oxheart Tomato is truly a showstopper. This exceptional variety combines the classic, romantic oxheart shape with a stunning color palette, while its robust flavor matches the vigor of its plant. From the first hint of color to the final harvest, this tomato delivers a gourmet experience that is second to none.

Key Features

• Exceptional Fruit Performance: The hallmark of this variety is its massive, heart-shaped fruit, typically weighing between 650 and 800 grams. Each tomato is a natural work of art – its bright orange-yellow skin is densely covered with vivid red net-like veins. This striking pattern continues into the flesh, revealing beautiful pink-red striations within the firm, golden-yellow interior.

• Superior Eating Quality: With thick walls, dense flesh, and minimal seed cavities, this tomato is an ideal choice for thick-cut slices that hold their shape beautifully on the plate. The flesh is satisfyingly meaty and compact, delivering a concentrated and rich flavor with outstanding sweetness balanced by a perfect hint of acidity – every bite is memorable.

• Vigorous and Productive Plant: As an indeterminate (cordon) variety, this plant exhibits tall, strong growth and a robust structure capable of supporting its oversized fruits. It produces a bountiful harvest of these prized tomatoes over an extended mid-to-early season period. Its majestic stature also makes it a stunning focal point in any garden.

Cultivation Guidelines

• Support is Essential: Given its vigorous growth and the significant weight of its fruits, sturdy stakes, large tomato cages, or a robust trellis system are absolutely necessary. Proper support is critical for preventing broken branches and ensuring fruits develop cleanly off the ground.

• Pruning Method: Suitable for single-stem or double-stem training. Regularly removing side shoots (suckers) will concentrate the plant's energy on the main stems, resulting in larger, higher-quality fruits.

• Fertilization and Watering: This heavy-feeding variety benefits from regular applications of balanced fertilizer throughout the growing season. Consistent soil moisture is key to preventing blossom-end rot and ensuring even fruit development.

• Seed Saving: As an open-pollinated heirloom variety, seeds harvested from fully ripe fruits will reliably inherit all the outstanding traits of the parent plant, allowing you to preserve this precious variety year after year.
